The Love of Artur Correia for drawing, appeared at an early stage, when, at the age of five, he spent his time copying Amorim's illustrations included in the "Coleção Manecas".
During the time he attended the Industrial Course, he wrote and made illustrations for the paper "Alerta".
His first illustrations were quite singular, since they were drwan on litographic stone. At that time, Artur Correia was working in a litography and the technique of drawing on the stone was also a sort of training for the future, when he had to draw different kinds of labels.
In October 1964, Marcello de Moraes invited him to make a test as an "inbetweener" (the intervals of main naimation). Marcello was a animator--director in a production society. The results were wonderful and he decided to dedicate himself to this new activity.
Ricardo Neto begins working with him in April 1965. Together, they have created, planified and directed hundreds of publicity films.
The good understanding between them during the time they were working together, and since they were perfectly aware of their value (to prove it there was more than a dozen international and national awards), they decided to establish their own animation studio. This happened in 1973.
The award at the Annecy Film Festival had an important role in the foundation of Topefilme.

Industrial course. Colaborated in several youth and teens magazines. In 1965 he started working for Telecine-Moro as an Animated Director, having in 1967 being awarded with the first prize at the Venice Advertising Festival. Since then, his career has been enriched with distinction at Annecy, Bilbao, Cannes, Hollywood, Argentina, Zagreb and Portugal.
In 1970 and 1983 he gives his colaboration to the Pegbar Studios of Barcelona.
In 1973 he inaugurates teh TOPEFILME, a studio equiped to the animation film production, making over 600 advertising films.
